The 9th Ven. Dokhar Nendo Tsatrul Rinpoche, was born on the 9th January 1974 in Celementown Deradun in India as son of Jigmed Palden Rinpoche and Pema Dolma Khamritshang. They got 4 children, the first is Dechen Yangzom, the second unfortunately passed away as small child, the third is Tsatrul Rinpoche and the fourth is an other Rinpoche.

Tsatrul Rinpoche got very seriously ill just after his birth and his parents brought him to a hospital in Delhi. The doctor wasn’t able to help him, but fortunately at the same time H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorjee was also in Delhi, and his parents went immediately with their son to H.H. to get blessings. When H.H. saw the ill boy he said to his parents: “Just keep him proper, because he is a special boy” and he gave the blessings and he said: “Soon we will meet each other in an other country”. The parents could not understand what H.H. ment by this sentence, but from one day to the other the little boy recovered completely.

A couple of months later his parents got like many other Tibetans in Exile the chance to go abroad to Switzerland. About 2 years later (in 1976) H. H. the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorjee visited Switzerland. During this visit H.H. recognized that the little boy is the reincarnation of Dokhar Nendo Tsatrul Rinpoche. H.H. explained that Dokhar Nendo Tsatrul Rinpoche first reincarnation was the Water Yogi “Drupthob Chugompa”, one of the best disciple of H.H., the 1st Karmapa Duesum Khenpa. The 2nd reincarnation was recognized by H.E. Karma Chagme Raga Aser, who enthroned him as Nendo Rigzin Gyaltso Rinpoche. Then he became his great disciple through all his reincarnations until the 9th Dokhar Nendo Tsatrul Rinpoche.

After Rinpoche reached the age of 5 his parents brought him to the Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim in India for the enthronement. Rinpoche stayed with H.H. for the last 2 years before H.H. passed away. During almost 12 years of study he got trained in Dharma by the Karma Sri Nalanda Institute and received special empowerments from H.E. Kalu Rinpoche, Tulku Tenga Rinpoche, Dilgo Chentse Rinpoche, H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, Tulku Orgyen Rinpoche and teachings by Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche and Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche and many others. While Rinpoche stayed at the Rumtek Monastery the main person who took care and was responsible for the Rinpoche was Solpon Lodro Sherabla, one of the servants of H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. He did not only took care of Rinpoche but also of Rinpoche’s younger brother Drupwang Dondrup Rinpoche, who was also recognized by H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, when he was in Switzerland. Drupwang Dondrup Rinpoche is one of the highest in the Karma Kagyue Lineage at the Tsurpu Monastery.

In 1990 Rinpoche went to his own monastery Dokhar Nendo Tsawa Gon in East Tibet, which takes a drive of four days from Lhasa. The monastery is 800 hundred years old since the first Nendo Lineage started. In the 2 years when the Rinpoche stayed there, he helped the monastery and the inhabitants of Tibet as much as he could. Thereafter Rinpoche went to Nepal, where he got teachings by H.E. Tulku Orgyen Rinpoche and thereafter he did for several months a retreat at the Assura Guru Rinpoche his Cave.

As soon as he finished his retreat he went for the first time back to Switzerland to visit his parents and the other family members. In Switzerland Rinpoche did a six month retreat in Long Chen Nying Thig Ngondro through his father Jigmed Palden Rinpoche. Thereafter Rinpoche traveled for many years with his father around in the world, teaching dharma and helping people in needs.

At present Rinpoche is taking care of the centers of his father Jigmed Palden Rinpoche in Switzerland and Indonesia as well. At the meantime he is also engaged in several projects of his monastery Dokhar Nendo Tsawa Gon.
